Hustle

Believed to have originated in New York City around 1970, this dance went through many alterations, including line dance variations. It is a fast dance, with the lady spinning almost constantly, while her partner draws her close and sends her away.  Made popular by “Saturday Night Fever”, Hustle is danced to contemporary pop music.

The Hustle dance is done to any music that has a strong beat. No hopping or skipping around while doing the Hustle dance, it should be performed in a very smooth style.  We feature this style in our "Last Wednesday Workshop" series.
